The CoCo View Dive Resort is on a little island of its own off the little island of Roatan, one of the Bay Islands of Honduras. We stayed in a little cabana over the water. |

This fascinating creature was waiting for us topside after one of our last dives. We think he's a Rhinoceros Beetle. He was about three inches long. |

Uh ... Wow! |

Here's the Coco View dock. A boat (or a swim) is the only way in and out of the resort. On the last day of our trip we rented a car and took a drive around Roatan. |

At the top of our topside agenda: the "iguana farm." This isn't so much a farm as an amateur iguana sanctuary/petting zoo. It's filled with dozens and dozens of hungry iguanas. And a few parrots. And a monkey. But you only get to feed the iguanas. |

Next on the agenda: a "canopy tour." This isn't so much a tour as a cheap adrenaline rush. We jumped off high platforms and put our lives in the hands of Third World zip lines. |

As a dive resort, CoCo View knows its clientele are suckers for wildlife. So, they have a hummingbird feeder next to the restaurant. During the day you do see a few hummingbirds gently sipping at the sugar water. But after dark ... it turns into a bat feeding frenzy! |

Our neighbor tells us that three percent of bats in New York State carry rabies. I wonder what the percentage is in Honduras? On our next trip we'd better check our travel insurance coverage. And not tell the agent about this website. |

Aggghhhhhh! Rabid flying mice hopped up on sugar! |

Every morning the feeder would be completely dry. |
